The Sparco Extrema-S racing suit takes the same patented Hocotex material used in the successful Eagle line and presents in a classically styled suit. Three times as breathable as a traditional layered racing suit, 360 degree floating arm gussets are combined with a stretch back panel for maximum flexibility and comfort. Extra flat seams provide additional comfort, while traditional design touches such as classic Sparco epaulletes and seamless ankle/wrist cuffs make this suit a perfect platform for sponsor logos!
How does Hocotex work? Racing suits are traditionally constructed using layers of fabric sewn together with a quilted pattern. This quilting creates pockets of air between the layers which expands in a fire, providing thermal protection for the driver. Hocotex uses a honeycomb structure with over 60,000 internal air cells that provide a 10 to 12% increase in heat protection. Compare this to the 300 quilted chambers found in a traditional suit and the difference is clear!
