Collection: Racing Seats

A competition seat is the one upgrade that changes how every other safety part works. It fixes you in place so the harness can hold you, puts the belts at the angles they were designed for, and stops you bracing against the wheel mid-corner.

Most shells here are FIA 8855-1999, the common track-day and club-racing standard; the newer 8862-2009 appears on a small number of seats. Both carry an expiry on the label — one Sabelt listing states its 2027 expiration outright — and how long a series will accept one varies, so check your rulebook before you buy, not after.

Seats do not come with the base that bolts them to your car. That is a separate purchase: Planted build a vehicle-specific base for almost every car, made to order in about seven days if yours isn't in stock, and Sparco list their own 600-series brackets for some models. Brey-Krause make the adapters and seat-specific side mounts that match a particular seat to that base.

Sizing is not comparable between brands. Sparco, OMP and Sabelt each publish their own widths, and several shells come in L, XL, Medium or Max versions that are separate sizes rather than trim levels. Measure at the hips and shoulders and work from each maker's own chart.
