Subaru WRX Brake guide
Quick WRX Brake Pad Recommendations (Track-Tested)
Based on real HPDE testing on a 2024 Subaru WRX TR at Summit Point.
Hey everyone — welcome back to Enzuca’s Corner.
Today I want to walk you through real, on-track testing of four different Endless brake pads on our 2024 Subaru WRX TR, during HPDE events at Summit Point.
Watch our detailed MX72, ME20, MS35 and ML50A comparison video.
Subaru WRX Brake Pads — Real-World HPDE Testing for Street & Track
This isn’t theory.
This is what actually happened on track — heat, wear, fade, cracking — all of it.
If you’re tracking a WRX, STI, or anything running the 2018+ STI Brembo setup, this will save you time, money, and frustration. Let’s get into it.
What WRX Models Does This Apply To?

MX72 – Where It Started
I started with the Endless MX72.
It’s a good pad.
Cold bite felt solid. Pedal feel was confidence-inspiring.
But here’s the reality:
after about three days on track, it was basically down to backing plate thickness.
Two-day weekend, one extra day — and it was done.
So for real HPDE use? Not durable enough.
ME20 – Better Performance, Still Short Life
Next up was the Endless ME20.
Performance-wise? Great.
But wear was still an issue.
By the final session, I could feel fade, and when I got back to the pits, the pads were smoking.
They lasted barely four days total.
If you’re light on brakes, they might work.
If you’re pushing? Expect fast wear.
MS35 – Serious Sprint Performance
After talking to Endless, they recommended the MS35.
This pad is a true sprint compound.
Out of the pits, it heats up fast.
Maximum bite.
Zero fade.
Honestly — it was amazing.
But there’s a trade-off:
because it’s so aggressive, one corner wore thinner and wore out.
Performance? Outstanding.
Longevity? Limited.
ML50A – Endurance Focus
At this point, I wanted heat resistance — not just bite.
So I moved to the Endless ML50A, an endurance pad.
On track?
Three-day weekend, consistent performance, no fade.
Brakes held up with plenty of material left after 3 days of HPDE at Summit point.
Final Takeaway
Here’s the honest breakdown:
-
MX72 Endless MX72 – Fine street/occasional track, not HPDE-dur
able
-
ME20 Endless ME20 – Strong performance, short life
-
MS35 Endless MS35 – Incredible sprint pad, limited longevity
-
ML50A Endless ML50A – Best endurance option so far, heat management still under evaluation
No marketing fluff.
Just real seat time.
