“Discover the Secret Behind Brembo Brakes: The Racing Edge!”
Share
When Subaru designed the WRX, it was equipped with a conventional street-oriented brake system. In 2024, Subaru introduced the WRX TR, which features OEM Brembo brakes. The front end boasts six-pot calipers, while the rear end utilizes two-pot calipers, providing a highly capable track setup.
The WRX TR was not released until 2024, leaving 2022 WRX owners without a direct upgrade option. Consequently, they are compelled to modify their street-oriented brake system to achieve a more track-oriented performance with a Big Break Kit.
Many users opt for older, used STI brake systems that are compatible with the WRX VB chassis. Some even consider purchasing a $6,000 custom Subaru STI package offered by some stores.
However, there is a more well-known solution directly from Brembo Race Technologies. A genuine racing Brembo setup, directly from the factory, rather than some new/used replacement parts.
Brembo Race Technologies is the racing division of Brembo. They specialize in producing Brembo Big Brake Kits specifically designed for track use, not street driving.
For the WRX VB platform, Subaru offers three distinct models: the GT, GTS, and GTR.
