Collection: Planted Seat Brackets & Sliders

Planted make the part that bolts a race seat into your car: a vehicle-specific seat base that adapts an aftermarket seat to the floor of your particular car. They are built from 3/16" steel and finished in black powder coat.

They build one for almost every car. For Porsche, the range covers the 911 and 912 from 1966, the 911, 928, 944, 968, 964 and 993 through 1998, and the 996, 997, 991, Boxster and Cayman. For BMW, it runs from the E21 and E30 through the E36, E46, E90/E92 and the F30–F83 3 and 4 Series, M3 and M4 included, plus the 1 and 2 Series, Z3, Z4 and the 5 and 6 Series. If the bracket for your car isn't in stock, Planted can make it to order, typically in about seven days.

How your seat meets it. A Planted base accepts sliders from most major seat makers — Bride, Cobra, OMP, Racetech, Recaro, Sparco, Status and others. If you would rather drop the sliders and mount the seat directly or by its side flanges, extra material is provided for that, though some drilling may be required.

Getting the order right:

• Driver and passenger are separate listings. Doing both seats means two brackets.
• Porsche brackets are grouped by floor, not by model name. One covers the 996, 997, 991, Boxster and Cayman from 1998 on; another covers the 1974–1998 911, 928, 944, 968, 964 and 993; the 1966–1973 911 and 912 have their own.
• On the E36 and E46, BMW coupe and sedan are separate listings — match the body style as well as the chassis code.

Worth knowing before you buy: not every seat fits every car, so measure before you order the seat; many cars offset the steering wheel toward the centre, which a different seat can make worse; and aftermarket seats generally do not carry over airbag or seat-belt sensor circuitry. Professional installation is recommended.
