Which compound

• 11 — the biggest range here. Very high initial bite and torque with little temperature-induced torque rise, and better pad and rotor wear than the 01 it replaced.
• 08 — endurance. Smooth initial bite, very low disc wear, longest-wearing pad PFC make.
• 01 — the original benchmark compound, still specified on plenty of cars.
• 97 — less bite than the 01, very flat torque curve, low wear. Club racing, track days, Spec Miata.

Reading the part number

PFC pads use a four-part number such as 0918.11.19.44. The first block is the pad shape and the second is the compound, so one shape number covers every car running that caliper. If you know your shape, searching that number is faster than searching your car — and check it against PFC's application guide before ordering. Pads are sold by axle, so confirm front or rear on the listing.
